●The MAX882CSA+T from Maxim Integrated Products is a low IQ, low dropout linear regulator in high power (1.5W) 8 pin NSOIC package. It maximizes battery life by combining ultra low supply currents and low dropout voltages. It has 200mA output current capability at up to +125°C junction temperature. The MAX882 uses P-channel MOSFET pass transistor to maintain low 11µA (15µA maximum) supply current from no load to the full 200mA output. In dropout, the MOSFET does not suffer from excessive base currents that occur when PNP transistors go into saturation. The MAX882 features a 7µA standby mode that disables the output but keeps the reference, low battery comparator and biasing circuitry alive. Applications include pagers, cellular phones, 3.3V and 5V regulators, 1.25V to 11V adjustable regulators, high efficiency linear regulators, battery- powered devices, portable and solar powered instruments.
